The Redmi Note 8 is introduced as a “48MP Quad Camera All-Star”, a budget smartphone that runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor along with Adreno 610 mobile GPU. The phone has 3GB/4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB to 128GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage. It has up to 256GB of expandable storage via a dedicated microSD card slot.
For the display, it has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, 450 nits brightness, FHD+ (1080 x 2340) resolution, ~409 pixel density, and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The front display is a water-drop or (Dot Drop Display) design and has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 scratch protection.
When it comes to the camera, the phone sports a 13-megapixels selfie lens, a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixels (Samsung S5KGM1 sensor) main shooter, 8MP ultrawide (120˚ ), 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. For the videography, the rear side can record up to 4K video resolution while the front is only capable of up to 1080p.
The phone packs a 4000mAh non-removable battery with 18W QC 3.0 fast charging. As for the software, the phone operates on the Android 9.0-based MUI 10 mobile OS. Lastly, the phone features IR Blaster, FM Radio, and a TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification.
