Price
Both devices offer the same variants, the Poco M5 is cheaper here. Take note also that the price difference is only less than Php1000.00 (price in the Philippines) so you need to decide on how you gonna use the phone. If you’re into gaming, we recommend you go for Poco M5 as it has a way ahead in terms of chipset performance. On the other hand, for entertainment and lifestyle usage we suggest the M5s.
Design
When it comes to design, the two phones are different especially in the display hardware and how the back panel looks physically. The M5 uses an IPS LCD panel and a water-drop notch style while the M5s is made with an AMOLED screen in a punch-hole design. The back aesthetics of these two phones are also different, you have to choose from the leather-like texture of M5 or the light glossy at the back of M5s.
Camera
Both devices can produce good-quality photos but if your concern is the features you can play around with, we can surely suggest you to go for the Poco M5s. It has more megapixels if you’re into numbers, ultrawide lens is also a plus when it comes to photography and the 4K video capability.
Performance and specs
The M5 sports a new MediaTek Helio G99 6nm octa-core processor with a 378,436 AnTuTu score while the Helio G95 also got 300+ and 12nm SoC. Both device has a UFS 2.2 flash storage type which is a good feature when it comes to multitasking on a phone. The two phones operate with 4GB/64GB LPDDR4x RAM and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Talking about the power, both device packs a 5000mAh battery capacity. The only difference is the charging speed, the Poco M5 can charge up to 18W while the M5s have up to 33W charging speed.
Conclusion
As marketed during their launch event, each phone has a specific type of use. Just remember, if you’re up to buying a new phone with good processor performance, go grab the Poco M5.
